A Parisian Makeup Look inspired by the An American in Paris Broadway Musical & the Master By Mario Palette

It’s probably no shock that I’m an Old Hollywood Film addict.  But before my obsession with old movies, I was a true musical theater geek.  So I was so excited when I was gifted two complimentary tickets to see the Boston debut of the An American in Paris Broadway Musical.  The tickets were in our swag bags at the Cambridgeside Galleria event I attended, and the show just so happened to be on my two month wedding anniversary.  So my husband and I were excited for a night out in the city… and I was excited to create this Parisian Makeup Look for the evening….

Pinning is Glamorous!

A Parisian Makeup Look inspired by the An American in Paris Broadway Musical & the Master By Mario Palette

I picked up the new Anastasia Beverly Hills Master by Mario Palette on a recent trip to the Sephora in Boston.  I just had to use the shades Hollywood and Paris for this look!

I also knew I wanted a red lip, and I went with my favorite Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Underage Red.  It’s the perfect pop of red, it was my wedding shade, and I thought it was appropriate since, in the original movie, Gene Kelly was 19 years older than the barely legal Leslie Caron who played his love interest… scandalous for the time.

Here’s how I got the Parisian look…

How I Do My Base Makeup | Fall 2016

When transitioning from Summer into Fall, you need to add layers of clothing, and maybe a deeper lip color, but what if you just can’t let go of that Summer glow?  I have the perfect Summer to Fall transitional base makeup routine that will help you keep that glowing skin, but have it be more cool weather appropriate….

How I Do My Base Makeup | Fall 2016

A big part of the glow comes from the Custom Enhancer Drops in Moonlight.  I’m thinking about trying Celestial for Winter, but I used Sunkissed all Summer, and I feel like Moonlight is the perfect shade for Fall.

If you watched my Sheer Foundations review, you know that I have a love/hate relationship with the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer.  I love the glow that it gives me, but my face tends to look shiny by the end of the day.  Since using the Cover FX Custom Blot Drops I’ve noticed my makeup staying flawless much longer!

I have had the honor of experiencing so many great events lately!  I am blown away by the opportunities that Everyday Starlet has brought my way, and more exciting things are still to come!  I have a few things that I can’t mention yet, but that I am VERY excited to share with you… but I can share with you that I got to meet and talk to the Founder of First Aid Beauty, Lilli Gordon.  She was so passionate and inspirations, and the whole First Aid Beauty team was just so much fun to meet.

I have a tip that I’ve mentioned in a few videos.  I always recommend that you blot your lips on the back of your hand instead of on a tissue to avoid getting tissue bits all over your lipstick.  So I want to start a trend of sharing our kissprints.  I may come up with a hashtag for it… I’m open to suggestions), but for now, tag me in your hand kissprints on social media (I’m @SarahBlodgett on most social platforms, all my links are at the top of this website, and the bottom of this posts) and use the hashtag #StarletSquad … I may put them all together in a collage and give you a shout out!

The Best Matte Liquid Lipsticks | Ultimate Review

I have a little but of an addiction to liquid lipsticks.  As much as I love the glamorous feeling of applying a traditional lipstick, I just don’t have the patience to reapply it constantly.  I like to apply my lipstick and not worry about it the rest of the day.  Enter a matte liquid lipstick.  Some are long lasting, some are kissproof, and others just last a little longer than a regular lipstick, but they allow you to apply lipstick and then forget about it.  That’s why the majority of my lipstick collection is made up of liquid lipsticks…

The Best Matte Liquid Lipsticks | Ultimate Review

I actually did a review of liquid lipsticks a while ago, very early in my YouTube career.  It’s not great quality, and I was still just learning about making videos.  Somehow it became the most popular video on my channel.  I really wanted to update my review to give you better quality, and a more detailed review.  So I tested my liquid lipstick collection to find out which ones are the best, and which ones are not worth your money.  Here’s what I discovered…..

Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Review & Makeup Tutorial for Fair Skin

I’m so excited for today’s makeup tutorial!  Not only is it a makeup tutorial for fair skin, AND a Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Review, but it’s also a really fun collab!  If you’ve been following along with me, you know I got the chance to be a finalist in the StyleCodeLive Talent Search, appear of the show, and attend GenBeauty in New York City.  One of the best parts of that experience was the amazing people I got to meet.  Most memorably was the winner of the talent search, Amaris from Glamorous by Amaris.  We hit it off immediately, and had such a great time taking on NYC together.  Since we don’t live close by, we wanted to still feel like we were hanging out and do a collab video.  We both decided that the Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics was the perfect palette for a collab!…..

We each got the palette and created a makeup look around it.  My look is showing you how to create a look with the palette for fair skin, and Amaris is showing a look for darker skin tones.  This palette is so versatile.  I’ve actually been reaching for it every day since this video.  You can check out Amaris’s video here, and you can see how I got my look here…

Creepy Doll Halloween Makeup Look w/ Faux Freckles

I’ve teamed up with the wonderful YouTubers in the Beauty and the Vlog Facebook Group for a fun Halloween Makeup collab.  The theme is Pretty Scary.  Basically we each took a scary Halloween look and made it glam.  You can see the other videos in this playlist, and you can see my Creepy Doll Halloween Makeup Look w/ Faux Freckles here…..

Pinning is Glamorous!

Creep Doll Halloween Makeup Look w/ Faux Freckles

I actually had a hard time coming up with an idea for this collab.  I don’t tend to like scary Halloween stuff.  I had this wig from a Betty Boop Halloween costume I did years ago and it felt like vintage doll hair.  So after some Googling and Pinterest searches I came up with this look.

I started with the new CoverFX Custom Blot Drops, which I’ve been loving as a primer.  Then I added the CoverFX Custom Enhancer Drops in Celestial for a very pale glow.  It’s normally a little light for an all over the face highlight, but I wanted a very pale, porcelain look to my skin.

I used the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye to cover up my brows and lips.  I had to use a TON for my brows and I probably should have tried a glue or soap to help cover it, but it did a pretty good job on it’s own.  I also ended up just using the concealer all over my face for a full coverage pale effect.

My Stila liquid liner worked so perfectly for the brows and eye details.

Adding blush with a damp beauty blender gave a pink cheek effect that you see on vintage dolls.  I also used a Physicians Formula bronze pencil and twisted the tip on my cheeks to get the faux freckles that I have been seeing a lot of YouTubers doing lately.

I drew on a cupid’s bow lip and covered it with my Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Underage Red… I couldn’t help myself because the name is so fitting for the look, but any red will work.

I finished the look with the Ardell Mega Volume Lashes* that I got in my GenBeauty swag bag.  They are the most dramatic lashes I have and I wanted a really bold false lash because dolls tend to have those thick lashes.

Here’s how a achieved the look….

CambridgeSide Galleria Around the World Event

I have been so lucky lately with so many blogging/vlogging opportunities coming my way.  Some I have shared with you, like my StyleCodeLive/GenBeauty Experience, and some I will be revealing soon.  I have been back and forth about doing regular vlogging, but when fun events come up I really want to share it with my Starlets.  I recently got to go to an event at the CambridgeSide Galleria that I just had to share with you…..

CambridgeSide Galleria Around the World Event

I’ve been to one other event at the CambridgeSide Galleria before, and it was a blast.  They have so many great events for bloggers, and I wish I lived a little closer so I could go to more events.  This event was Around the World themed.  They had food, fashion, and some beauty that was inspired by different parts of the world.

I was lucky enough to be gifted two tickets to the Boston opening of the new musical An American in Paris… I’m thinking about vlogging that experience as well, and maybe doing a Get Ready With Me!

High End Mascaras | Try on & Review

Continuing yesterday’s mascara review, today I’m testing my high end mascaras, to see which ones live up to the hype….

As I mentioned yesterday, I tend to gravitate towards drugstore mascaras because, you really should change your mascara every 3 months.  So why spend a pile of money on a high end version?  However, so many high end and luxury brands are selling mascaras in travel sizes.  It’s perfect because I know I’ve never used up a whole tube of mascara before it dried out.    Many of the ones I tested I actually got as samples or free gifts with purchase.  So high end mascaras are sometimes the more affordable and sensible option.  I went through my collection to see which ones were worth the money.  Here’s what I found out….
