14 Days of Target Denim

This post is sponsored by Target

Target Style Collage

When I was first offered the opportunity to work with Target, I was thrilled. I have been a long-time lover of their stores. Then I found out it was going to be all about fashion and I got even more excited. Target is amazing at offering the latest trends at affordable prices (okay, so I know it sounds like they asked me to say that, but I promise you, even though Target is sponsoring this post, all opinions are my own). However, when I found out it was a trial of their new denim, panic set in. Jeans have always been stressful for me. I usually stick with the same brands and styles that I always wear. I dread going to a store and carrying 6 different sizes into the fitting rooms. I try ordering online, but since I have to order so many different sizes, I end up having to return most of them. I’ve been wanting to play with my Too Faced Sugar Pop palette for a while, and I really wanted to use my Too Faced Melted Coral liquid lipstick.  Then I realized… I had so many Too Faced products that I was dying to try.  So I thought I would do a (mostly) Too Faced makeup look, and do some first impressions of some Too Faced products like the new Born this Way Foundation.  All together, they make the perfect colorful Summer look in this Sugar Pop, Coral Lip, Too Faced Makeup Tutorial!

90s Glam

90s Glam Collage

When most people think of 90s fashion they think of grunge, plaid, and ripped denim.  But the 90s had it’s glamorous side, with it’s minimalist gowns, over lined lips, and nods to the 30s and 70s.  Spaghetti straps were the bane of my existence as an early developed teen, so when I decided to recreate a 90s glam look, I went for a tank dress (much easier on my bust line).  I picked this velvet number I found at Forever 21 a few years ago but never had the occasion to wear.  Velvet was huge in the 90s, and I loved it because it’s a very slimming and forgiving fabric.  I paired it with my daisy necklace from BaubleBar.  Daisies always remind me of Drew Barrymore… the ultimate 90s Starlet.  I added black strappy shoes that give a nob to the minimalist vibe of the decade.  I keep my hair messy… because you can’t have a 90s look without a little grunge… and the lips are a modern take on the over-lined 90s lip.   (more…)

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick Swatches

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick Swatches

If you watched my review of the Best & Worst Liquid Lipsticks, then you know Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks are one of my favorites.  I have been collecting the whole shade range for a while, and planning to do a swatch video.  You can imagine my surprise when I realized that Ms. Von D added 16 new shades the day I filmed this video.  So here is my first swatch video showing the original 12 shades… I’ll have to start collecting the new 16!

Fashion or Bust: Custom Clothing

Fashion or Bust: Custom Clothing, eshakti.com, little white dress, eyelet Summer dress,

Anyone with a less-than-average body type knows the frustration of finding clothes that fit.  Tailoring is always an option, but it can be pricey, inconvenient, and, maybe this is my own experience, but I find many tailors and seamstresses to be kinda mean (if you have a nice one who you love, then I’m jealous, I may have just had bad luck).  I had never considered custom clothing before, I always assumed it was out of my price range.  So when I was approached by eShakti.com to receive a custom piece from their website to try out for Everyday Starlet readers I was excited to try it.  Well, first I was hesitant.  I get approached by many companies wanting to do some kind of collaboration with my blog.  I ignore a lot of them because they have no relevance to my readers or are just not the right fit (pun not originally intended, but a happy coincidence).  So when I got the email from eShakti, I checked out their website and realized that I was in love with so many items!   (more…)
