I’m obsessed with Fashion, and I love seeing what trends are going to be popular for the upcoming season in beauty and style. The runways of Fashion Week are such a great indication of the Spring Trends. As much as I love a good theatrical runway show, some of the looks that walk the catwalk are not practical for everyday life. So I thought I would take a dramatic runway look and make it wearable for the Everyday Starlet. I started with the trend of a glossy eyeshadow on the lid combined with a vampy lip.
A dark lip color is usually seen more in Fall and Winter, but this year it’s carried over to Spring. I used a more subdued plum shade, my MAC Plumful to be exact, to make the vampy lip wearable for daytime.

Glossy lids have been a trend since the days of Old Hollywood Starlets. It’s usually strictly an evening look, but I used a honey tinted lip balm to give it a natural glow. You’ll be hard pressed to find a glossy lid look that won’t gather in the crease, but I was surprised how much my Pixi lip balm held up. If you really can’t hand the glossy lid feeling or creasing, you can use a shimmery cream shadow, like my favorite Maybelline Color Tattoo, for an even more wearable look.
Here’s the look in action…

I love how glossy lids look, but don’t think I can pull it off. I love how you toned it down, so pretty!

I am not sure about the glossy lids as my lids get glossy naturally (oily skin problem!), however vampy lips are always in for me! Nude makeup and pinks are what I’m looking for!
