I know everyone says it, but September just flew by. That may be because it JUST started to feel like Fall her in New England. So here’s what I’ve been loving for the last month…
June has been so busy, it seems like it went by in the blink of an eye (I wasn’t trying to rhyme, but I love when it works out that way). Here are the beauty, fashion, and tv things I’ve been loving over the last month…
I’m obsessed with the glamour of Old Hollywood, but sometimes you want something a little more modern. Today’s Starlets favor a looser, more casual wave… a look I’ve dubbed, New Hollywood Waves. I wanted to incorporate more fashion into my posts, so I paired these New Hollywood Waves with a fun, casual outfit. I’ve never been on board with the boyfriend jean trend (I like my clothes to have a little more shape thankyouverymuch), but when paired with hot pick pineapples and sexy strappy shoes, this outfit made me smile. I was a little obsessed with Selena Gomez’s look from the Met Gala. It was classic, Old Hollywood, but yet young and modern. She had gorgeous makeup… and if you’d like to see a tutorial on how to get her look you can check out yesterday’s post…. and she also had a gorgeous head of orchids. I’m sure hers were real… maybe the only thing in Hollywood that is. To recreate her look, I grabbed a faux branch of orchids from Michaels. I was going to glue them to a headband or to individual clips (and if you want the look to be more natural and last longer, those would be great options), but I ran out of time. So I just clipped off the end of the branch, and started pinning it to my head. (more…)
I was inspired by Kim Kardashian’s new Lob (that’s a long bob haircut for those of you that aren’t obsessed with Pinterest hairstyles like I am) to get a hair cut and start experimenting with some messy texture. I tried several texture products, but only one passed the Starlet test: Joico Texture boost Dry Spray Wax. So if you need a super quick and easy way to add some texture to your hair, I’ll show you how to style a Lob in no time at all….
If you would like to see a video on a more glamorous messy textured Lob, then give me a thumbs up on the video, or comment below!
Mother’s Day is just around the corner… Don’t know what to get the woman who gave you life? I have some gift ideas of all budgets for Moms of all ages….
April showers are gone, and will (hopefully) bring May flowers. I’m sharing my favorite things in beauty, skin care, makeup, hair care, TV, and reading that I’ve discovered, or re-discovered, this past month….
Continuing Supermodel week her at ES, Monday we looked at the body, Tuesday we looked at beauty tips, yesterday we had an example of Supermodel makeup… but I thought Supermodel hair deserved a post of its own. Yes, models are gorgeous, with perfect bodies, and flawless skin… but who can get past their hair (okay, so maybe most people, but I love their hair). Models seem to have that effortless look that makes their hair seem perfectly styled, yet completely natural at the same time. Here are some tips to get that look, no matter what type of hair you have…. (more…)
The good thing about living in New England is that you get to experience all the seasons. The bad thing about living in New England is that you get to experience all the seasons. The Summers are brutally hot and the Winters are ridiculously cold. It makes it that much more difficult for an Everyday Starlet to stay glamorous in any weather. Here are my Winter beauty essentials…
