I have long been obsessed with the Academy Awards…. especially the red carpet. So I thought I would show you how I get ready for fashion’s biggest night, and give you a glimpse of what I look like while I watch the E! Red Carpet (please be kind)).
If you’re a girly girl and/or fashionista then the Academy Awards are like your Superbowl. Personally, I watch the E! red carpet pre-show all day. I rarely see any of the nominated films, but… oh the fashion… that is my weakness. So I set out to create a glamorous snack that is worthy of a red carpet pre-show viewing. Of course, movies and popcorn go together like Brangelina. So I set out to make ordinary popcorn feel more luxurious. Enter the addition of truffle oil, truffle salt (can you tell like like truffles), rosemary, and pancetta. (more…)
The Golden Globes are this weekend, and Starlets are doing last min prep for the big day. Everyday Starlets are no different. So if you’ve been following my Red Carpet Ready 3 Month Plan (here is Month 3, Month 2, Month 1, and 1 Week) then this is the home stretch. You should continue your diet/exercise/beauty ticks that you’ve been doing, and do a few last min steps to get you your most glamorous…. (more…)
The Holiday season is over, and it’s the start of a New Year… and Red Carpet Season is upon us. The Golden Globes are this Sunday and I am so excited for all the Red Carpet fashion! If you have been following along with my 3 Month Plan (or trying to… the Holidays are hard, and I will admit to a few detours on my journey), or maybe you’d like to start 2015 with a healthy outlook (here are Months Three, Two, and One), then these are the goals for this week…. If you’ve been following along with my Red Carpet Ready 3 Month Plan, then you know the Golden Globes are a month away! We’re in the home stretch! I know it’s holiday time, so a few little sidetracks on my diet plan are inevitable, but here are my goals for this month…. (more…)
Last month I shared with all of you Starlets that I was getting Red Carpet Ready, and I have a 3 month plan to (hopefully) make that happen. I’m still following those goals…. (well mostly, my schedule and the weather keep getting in the way of my workouts) …but this month I’m adding to them… (more…)
Over the years my weight has fluctuated more than Oprah’s. Once I discovered how to lose weight, the challenge became how to keep it off. I realized recently that my weight has been getting a little higher than I’m comfortable. I’m not necessarily overweight for my height, but since I have been at an unhealthy weight before, I am sensitive to it and I want to catch myself before it gets out of hand. I needed motivation to get started. I don’t have any major events on the calendar… so I decided to create one… Red Carpet Season… (more…)
The Met Gala is one of the biggest nights for fashion and glamour, so I wanted to share with you some of my Women Crushes and their looks at this year’s Met Gala….
My personal favorite, Dita Von Teese, was there and Instagramed about why the Gala this year was so special to her…
Dita said: Striptease Queen Gyspy Rose Lee was one of legendary couturier Charles James’ dearest friends and best clients. Tonight The Met Ball celebrates the opening of the Charles James exhibit at a The Met, and I’m honored to be invited as muse to a designer who, like Charles James, creates incredible feats of haute couture glamour.
This was Dita’s dress by the talented Zac Posen(more…)
There’s one thing Hollywood Legends have in common (besides money, of course) and that’s a signature look. True Glamour Icons think of themselves as a brand, and they rarely stray from that. Can you imagine Elizabeth Taylor without diamonds? Or Gwen Stefani without her cool girl chic look? Of course not… that’s because these Starlets found their “look.” If you are going to be an Everyday Starlet you need to find a signature look that suits you. Finding your style is a long process, and it may (and probably will) evolve over time. (more…)
