One of my all-time favorite films is How To Marry a Millionaire. It’s Marilyn Monroe, Betty Grable, Lauren Bacall, gorgeous fashion, and hot dogs and champagne… what’s not to love? So I decided to make a healthy hot dog with a whole grain bun, and an Applegate Turkey Hot Dog (the healthiest dog I could find)… and I added some organic ketchup. Served with some champagne and my favorite flick, I was in Starlet heaven… now all I need is a millionaire (but my boyfriend would probably prefer I become one myself)…

Back To Starlet School
August is the time of year when kids start getting ready to go back to school… but why should kids be the only ones getting a chance at expanding their minds…. A Starlet is always learning, growing, and trying new things. After all, you are researching for your greatest role ever… your life! So this month we will be going Back To Starlet School and learning more about what it means to be a well-rounded Starlet.
Here are some things on this month’s to-do list: (more…)
Potato Chips, Champagne, and The Seven Year Itch
One of my favorite Marilyn Monroe films (after Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, of course) is The Seven Year Itch. It’s such a simple film that feels almost like a stage play (probably because it started out as a play). In the movie, Marilyn indulges in potato chips with champagne. I decided to do just that, but I had to glam it up. So I made Homemade Rosemary Parmesan Truffle Baked Potato Chips. I started with a basic recipe from The Food Network, and substituted the regular olive oil for EVOO with white truffles and added some parmesan… and, of course, some champagne. The result was sinfully good… just like the film… (more…)

Silver Screen Style: Cat on Hot Tin Roof
The Superbowl is coming this weekend, and there is no reason a Starlet can’t get in in the fun. How about some style from one of our favorite Old Hollywood movies, Cat on Hot Tin Roof. Elizabeth Taylor is a desperate housewife trying to seduce her ex-football star husband, Paul Newman. There is no question that they are two of the sexiest stars in all of history. And Ms. Taylor gives a mind-blowing performance… but it’s hard to get past her fabulous fashion…

Silver Screen Style: Bandwagon
Some movies are pure entertainment and others are also fashion inspiration. Today we look at the fashions from one of my favorite movies Bandwagon. Cyd Charisse’s outfits for this movie are timeless…
