Many woman think that they can’t afford to be a Starlet. That is completely untrue. Every woman can be a Starlet no matter what her budget. One thing I learned from my favorite book, The Bombshell Manual of Style, is that many Old Hollywood Starlets used inexpensive products to keep themselves looking glamorous. Even current Glamour Goddess Dita Von Teese has drugstore favorites to keep her looking stunning. So here is my latest CVS beauty haul dedicated to Bombshell beauty…
Monday mornings can be rough, so it was a great start to this week when I turned on the TV and saw one of my idols, Dita Von Teese, on The Queen Latifah Show. I always find something inspiring in every one of Dita’s interviews, and this one was no exception…
The Met Gala is one of the biggest nights for fashion and glamour, so I wanted to share with you some of my Women Crushes and their looks at this year’s Met Gala….
My personal favorite, Dita Von Teese, was there and Instagramed about why the Gala this year was so special to her…
Dita said: Striptease Queen Gyspy Rose Lee was one of legendary couturier Charles James’ dearest friends and best clients. Tonight The Met Ball celebrates the opening of the Charles James exhibit at a The Met, and I’m honored to be invited as muse to a designer who, like Charles James, creates incredible feats of haute couture glamour.
This was Dita’s dress by the talented Zac Posen(more…)
What better way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo then with a classic Margarita or a Glamorous Margadita. Here is the Glamour Goddess herself, Dita Von Teese, with instructions on how to make this Starlet cocktail favorite…
Happy Cinco de Mayo from Everyday Starlet!
Feel free to comment/like/share with all of your fabulous friends
Coachella is over, and I can’t say that most of the fashion seen at outdoor music festivals is really Starlet style. But leave it to Glamour Queen Dita Von Teese to show everyone how to retain your style no matter where you are. Here are my favorite looks of Dita’s at Coachella:
I love this fun summer dress, and the Keds are cute and comfortable
I’m not normally a fan of Maxi dresses, but I love this one (more…)
Who doesn’t love a Pin-Up Girl? They are adorable and sexy all at the same time, and they come in many shapes and sizes. The key to a Pin-Up Girl body is the soft, hourglass figure. That means ideally, your top and bottom half are the same with a tiny little waist, and a curvy but not overly muscular look. That may not be achievable for everyone, but you’d be amazed what exercise and diet can get you. Personally, I have always had curves, but sometimes they can get out of control. So here are some Pin-Up inspired exercises for that photo worthy figure…
Pin-Up Girls have a soft look. No hard bulging muscles. So incorporating an upper body workout into a cardio session is ideal, like with some type of martial arts, swimming (Pin-Up Girls love to be in swimsuits), or Dita Von Teese’s choice Fencing. (more…)
Gardening is a popular Pin Up and Glamour Girl pastime. It may seem unusual since it involves very un-glamorous things like dirt and worms… but it results in the beauty of flowers, plants, fruits and vegetables. Here are some tips for gardening like a pin up girl…
Dress the part
You can wear a pretty sundress, or a pretty apron that looks like a sundress.
Warm weather is approaching and many of you may be thinking of heading outdoors. What better way to enjoy the new season than lounging in your very own glamorous backyard. Here are some glamorous backyard essentials with inspiration from some Old Hollywood Starlets and Glamour Girls…
Plenty of flowers like Audrey Hepburn, who was an avid gardener
And fruits and veggies like Dita Von Teese’s oranges (more…)
Some would say that handwriting letters is a lost art. I personally have to confess that my handwriting is less than glamorous. However, true Starlets always have a signature, and I’m not just talking about their name (which they practice over and over again.) They had signature paper, pens, ink… and it usually tied in with their personal style.
