What I’m Loving This Week: Never Forget Edition

Never Forget Quote Maya Angelou

Every generation has major life events.. things that everyone remembers exactly where they were when they happened.  In my parents generation it was the JFK assassination.  I feel like, in my lifetime, there have been quite a few major events that I will never forget.  Maybe it’s just in my nature to “Never Forget.”  Having a Birthday on a day like Pearl Harbor Day (the anniversary of it… I’m not THAT old) gave me a unique perspective on days of Remembrance.  I’ll bet those with birthdays today know what I’m talking about.

So in addition to my usual “What I’m Loving This Week,” I thought I would add a “Where I Was When” section as a tribute to the anniversary of Sept 11th… (more…)

This is my first “Everyday Life’ type vlog… I’m talking all about the return of Fashion Police (missing Joan Rivers, and fan girling Brad Goreski, Giuliana Rancic, and NeNe Leakes), being a girl with boobs and why it’s not always fun, unboxing some jewelry, taking photos for my blog, and reviewing some new liquid lipsticks!

Back to School for Grown Ups

Back to School for Grown Ups

I’ll be the first to admit I was not a fan of school.  I hated the structure, the social aspect, and especially the mean teachers.  I encourage any young people reading this to stick it out because you’ll be glad you did… but I am certainly thankful that part of my life is over.  I can now get excited about Fall without the anxiety of classrooms.  The ironic thing is, I actually love to learn.  I have a naturally inquisitive mind, and I really do love studying and researching… I just like to do it on my schedule and involving subjects that interest me (some would call that stubborn, and those people would probably be right).   As adults, we  have the freedom to learn what we want when we want.  So if you’re all grown up but want to go back to school without actually having to go back, here are some ideas to get you started… (more…)

CT Comic-Con at Mohegan Sun, A Comedy Show, & My First Vlog

CT Comic-Con at Mohegan Sun, A Comedy Show, & My First Vlog

I’ve been on YouTube for a while now, and I’ve been having a blast.  It’s a lot of work but it’s always exciting and challenging.  I’ve mostly been posting beauty related videos, which is what i enjoy watching the most.  But I’ve been watching a lot of vlogs lately, and I’ve been wanting to give it a try.  When I found out that I would be performing my stand-up comedy routine at Connecticut ComicConn at Mohegan Sun, I thought that would be the perfect opportunity to do a little film about my weekend.  I was stressed at first (camera problems didn’t help), and it was a little awkward filming in public.  But once I got the hang of it it was really fun!  I definitely want to do more vlogging (vlogmas maybe?).  The only thing is, i was so focused on video that I forgot to take pictures of the weekend.  Next time I’ll try to remember to do both!

Fall 2015 Trend: Silver Grey Glam

Grey Collage

Grey gets me excited.. no I don’t mean 50 Shades of (darn it, I wanted to avoid that cliche, and I didn’t make it past the first sentence).  Anyway, I love all the shades of grey (gray?).  Some people find it drab and dull, but it’s my absolute favorite neutral!  When you’re a fair skinned platinum blonde like me, white can wash you out, and black can seen severe.  But grey always makes my day.  I love it in fashion, makeup, and especially with a little sparkle!  That’s why I was so excited to hear it was a trend for Fall 2015!  Here are some ideas to bring a little more grey into your everyday… (more…)

Some Bloglovin Love

Bloglovin Blog

I decided to enter the Bloglovin Follower contest.  Basically it’s for smaller bloggers, and the top 3 who gain the most followers in the month of August get spotlighted.  I don’t know if I’ll gain enough followers to win, but I think it’s a great way for me to try to build my following either way.  I personally love Bloglovin for keeping up with my favorite blogs.  I check my Bloglovin feed daily, and I follow quite a few blogs… but I wanted to share with you my top 10 favorites… (more…)
