My boyfriend and I have bonded over a mutual love of Mad Men. So for the mid-season finale I decided to make his favorite salad, the Iceberg Wedge Salad. I adapted this one from Giada De Laurentiis. I basically followed her recipe, but I used light sour cream… and since Giada uses buttermilk, this dressing is naturally lower in fat than most.
The old rule is: no white until after Memorial Day… which is seen as the unofficial start of summer. With so many winter white options, that rule is a little outdated, but I still don’t like to break out my whites too early in the season. So for Memorial Day I decided to throw on some white eyelet Keds and a cute retro inspired dress from Kohls. My hair and makeup was inspired by the new Audrey Hepburn Dove commercial…

I’ve been hearing a lot of buzz about the new commercial featuring Audrey Hepburn and Dove Dark Chocolate. Some people say it’s creepy. I think, if it exposes the elegance of Ms. Hepburn to a new generation then it’s worth it. I’d love to hear your opinion…

This recipe is Gluten free, and vegan (if you omit the sprinkling of parmesan, or use a non-dairy version). I sometimes add creamy white beans to add some protein.
